A couple of weeks ago I teamed up with my good friend (and fellow Youtuber), Daniel Tay, to do a pregnancy photoshoot for my gorgeous friend Daniela.

It turned out to be a beautiful and sunny day, which surprisingly is actually not ideal for a photoshoot as it can cause too much glare and shadows. We ended up having to use the reflector most of the time, so I was the makeup artist, stylist AND photography assistant that day! 😛

Look 1 – Natural
Location: Jells Park

For the first look, Daniela wore a simple yoga outfit, so I kept the makeup light and natural. I set the liquid foundation with Nude by Nature’s mineral foundation in medium (a bit darker than her natural skin tone), to enhance her beautiful pregnancy glow.

For Daniela’s eyes, I used a combination of peach eyeshadow from my Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette. Then I lined her eyes with a black gel liner and applied 2 coats of black mascara (Daniela has naturally long and curly eyelashes). I applied a peachy blush and a powder highlight on her cheeks and finished off with a soft nude lipstick and gloss.

Some behind-the-scenes photos showing me touching up Daniela’s makeup before shooting, me and the reflector and Daniel at work.

Here are some of my favourite photos from this first set (Photos courtesy of Daniel). We took these photos around 11am and unfortunately the sun was not in the right place and it was very glarey, but I am happy with how these turned out – very back-to-nature and carefree 🙂

Look 2 – Glam
Location: Campbell’s Croft Reserve

For the second look, Daniela wanted a ‘glam boho’ style. She wore a white and navy blue patterned maxi dress, so I created a blue smokey eyes look using my Coastal Scents Smokey Palette. I also added a pair of false eyelashes to add drama, contoured the cheeks with bronzer and used a light pink lipstick (with gloss) for the lips.

Behind-the-scenes photos showing me doing Daniela’s makeup on a picnic table in Jells Park before driving to Campbell’s Croft Reserve (feels awesome doing makeup in nature haha!). And love the photo of Daniela and I ^___^

These are some of my favourite photos from the second set. The lighting was much better at this second location and I love how Daniela’s glam look juxtaposes with the natural surroundings.

Look 3 – Earthy
Location – Chelsea Beach

For the third look, Daniela wore a flowing, teal-coloured maxi dress, which was perfect for the beach setting. I wanted the eye makeup to look earthy, so I used shades of brown and forest green with a hint of gold, using mostly my Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette. I also changed the lip colour back to a soft nude with a shimmery gloss on top.

More behind-the-scene photos 😀 You can see me walking along the beach hauling my heavy bag of makeup…I didn’t know Daniel took the photo but I like it! Also the colourful yacht sheds which makes a great backdrop for photos, and once again, Daniel busy capturing beautiful shots.

These are some of my favourite photos from the third set, and I definitely think this set is my absolute favourite out of the three! The lighting was just perfect, the wind worked in our favour and every shot turned out beautifully.

I think this photo of Daniel captures EXACTLY how we felt afterwards – total exhaustion! Who knew a photoshoot can take so much energy?! But we did have a great time and Daniel and I are very proud of our efforts, considering he is not a professional photographer and I am not a professional makeup artist!

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and I am so happy to have been given the chance to capture this special time in my friend’s life ♥
