Back in September, Daniel and I teamed up once again for another photoshoot, this time a catalogue shoot for the clothing brand ‘Radiade’.
Radiade is an Australia clothing company specialising in anti-radiation fashion, especially for pregnant women.
The specially designed garments from Radiade uses fabrics that incorporates the latest nano-technology, which can cut out up to 99% of everyday radiation, generated by things such as computers, televisions, mobile phones, power lines, microwaves, hairdryers, toasters etc.
We arrived at the store early in the morning for hair and makeup (you can see Lena, who is a pharmacist AND the owner of Radiade, doing Anna’s hair – talk about talented!). We had two models that day, the gorgeous Sophia (not pregnant) and the beautiful Anna (who is 23 weeks pregnant). The reason for using both models is to show that Radiade’s clothing range is also suitable for non-pregnant women.
Our first shoot location is the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was a cloudy day, which is perfect weather for a photoshoot!
Lena (assisted by her mother and her partner) set up the rack of Radiade garments and jewellery near the park bench. The models changed their outfits in the trees behind the bench haha!
The models were going to be modelling a set of casual garments for the shoot at the Botanic Gardens, so I went for a natural makeup look. I gave Sophia slightly smokey brown eyes, brown eyeliner, bronzer and light pink lips.
Some behind the scenes photos from Sophia’s shoot. I just LOVE the photo of her and me – the height difference is so funny!! 😛

I also did a natural makeup look on Anna, but I added a set of natural false eyelashes (as her lashes were shorter than Sophia’s). I also gave her a warm peachy blush to accentuate her pregnancy glow.

After a break for lunch, we moved onto the second shoot location – St Kilda Beach.
For the shoot at St Kilda Beach, the models were going to be modelling cocktail dresses and gowns, so I changed the makeup to more dramatic grey smokey eyes. I paired the eyes with a peachy nude lipstick.
Some behind the scenes photos from Sophia’s shoot. Sometimes the lighting got so bright with the reflector that Sophia had to close her eyes and open them just as the photo was taken – great modelling tip!

I also did grey smokey eyes on Anna, but I made it not as intense as Sophia’s for a slightly softer look.
Some behind the scenes photos from Anna’s shoot. The beach was the perfect location to shoot the beautiful dresses because the wind gave them a lovely flowing effect (although the wind was not good for makeup application!).

It was a long and tiring day but I had so much fun because I got to do what I love the most! The models Sophia and Anna are both lovely ladies who were so easy to work with, and Lena is such an inspiration with her designs and creative vision – I wish her the best of luck!
And if you’re planning for a baby or is an expecting mother who happens to live in Melbourne, don’t forget to check out the Radiade store at 32A Toorak Rd, South Yarra.
Daniel and I are both SO proud of our efforts and I think the photos speak for themselves. We definitely make a great team! 🙂
We hope to collaborate again sometime soon and I look forward to whatever exciting project we have in the future!
