Since it was my first time attending IMATS, I didn’t really know what to expect and therefore, didn’t budget for how much to spend. I’m actually quite happy with myself as I was quite selective and careful in what I purchased, especially when everything looked so enticing! However, I think if I went back on the second day, I definitely would have bought alot more 😛
So overall, I spent just over $100AUD, which is great for the amount of products I bought!
Royal & Langnickel
From left to right: Angled blender ($4), Taklon detail liner ($2), Eye detailer ($3), Flat-top foundation brush ($6), Kabuki ($10)
The Royal & Langnickel booth was right in-front of the entrance and it was constantly packed with people, which I’m not surprised about considering the amazingly affordable prices of their makeup brushes!
Although I already have more than enough brushes, I couldn’t hold back from buying a few more. I did chose ones which I don’t already have in my collection. I’m especially happy with the flat-top foundation brush (similar to the Sigma F80) and the kabuki brush, both of which are very dense and very soft.
Ben Nye HD Matte Foundation ($15) and Makeup Forever HD Foundation ($42)
I also bought two foundations, the first is the Ben Nye HD Matte Foundation in Special White. I do quite alot of makeup tutorials where I require a very pale foundation and have not yet found one which is quite pale enough, so this is just perfect. The texture is nice and creamy and it’s also good for mixing with other foundations to lighten the shade.
I also bought the Makeup Forever HD Foundation in 118. This is a foundation which I’ve been looking forward to trying for a long time, because I’ve read many rave reviews about it. Also, I already have the Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder (which was sent to me by my dear friend ThanieKB), so I have the whole shazam! I’m definitely going to do a blog review for this product 🙂
Diamond FX White Face Paint ($10) and DFX Famous Green Sponge ($1)
Since I’m going to be doing more Halloween makeup tutorials, I decided to buy some good-quality Diamond FX white face paint from The Face Paint Shop. I also grabbed a DFX Famous Green Sponge to use with the face paint. I thought the name was so funny cos I’ve never heard of it and only bought it cos it was cheap, but then again, I’m not an avid face painter! 😛
Beauty Pod ($10)
I’ve been apprehensive about trying BeautyBlender dupes, as I have not yet found one remotely close to the quality of the BeautyBlender. But I did check out the tester for this Beauty Pod (which was wet) and it did expand in water and had a similar feel to the BeautyBlender. I’m keen to try this out and do a comparative review for you guys soon.
#199 ($5) and #605 ($5) False Eyelashes
I also bought 2 pairs of false eyelashes at Mehron, they were only $5 a pair! #199 is super funky, I’ll wear them if I ever do a drag queen makeup tutorial! #605 is great to wear for going out 🙂
Disposable Mascara Wands ($5)
Lastly, I bought a packet of disposable mascara wands from Beauty and Spa Solutions. As I am doing more and more makeup jobs, it is important to have these disposable tools to use on models so that everything is nice and hygienic. I’m so bummed that I didn’t grab anything else, like lip-gloss wands and spongy applicators, don’t know what I was thinking!
I can’t wait to try out all of my new goodies! I definitely will be blogging about some of the products individually, but let me know if there’s any particular products you would like me to review ^___^
